SSF247 – Holiness: A Course in the Spiritual Classics

This course provides an examination of several essential elements in the spiritual life as taught by classical spiritual writers. Themes include conversion, a plan of life, the sacred reality of time, holy silence, and the foundation of prayer, which is humility. Classical texts are read with an eye toward growth in union with God and in charity toward neighbor. Some of the Spiritual Masters studied include Saint Augustine, Saint Gregory of Nyssa, Saint Benedict, Saint Ignatius Loyola, Saint Thomas Aquinas, Saint John Paul II, and Fr. Romano Guardini.
