St. Augustine: The Son of Such Tears

On August 27 & 28 we celebrate the feasts of St. Monica and her son, St. Augustine.  To honor these great Saints, we’ll take a look at St. Augustine’s life, focusing on his profound conversion to the Catholic Faith which resulted from his mother’s many years of tearful prayers for him.  Additionally, we’ll examine both how petitionary prayer fits with God’s eternal providence and how, by God’s grace, we can make our own petitionary prayers more efficacious.
