The Great Western Canon: Classical Literature 102
January 7 – May 20, 2026
Join other students in the discovery of the foundations of the Western Canon. The stories told by the Greeks and Romans have echoed throughout time and have long been considered important first steps along the path toward Christianity. Even though the early Greeks and Romans lived before the Incarnation of Christ, they sought truth and asked important questions about justice, virtue, and human nature.
Required Texts for 102: Virgil’s Aeneid (any translation), Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, and other ancient literature selections.
